We held a Special General Meeting on April 21, 2026. Ron Roberts (Chair) opened the meeting, welcomed everyone, went over the two agenda items, and introduced the Renovation Committee members: Kale Angus, Don Cunliffe, and Tim Dayton. He also gave a shout-out to Landon Dix, who volunteered his time as designer to help prepare the renovation plans.
Ron reviewed the list of planned renovations and the construction estimates that had been emailed to members in advance. He noted that we currently have about $420,000 available, including funds returned by SCRD after the original Coopers Green Hall plan was replaced by the Connor Park Hall project.
He also shared that the Construction Agreement with SCRD is close to being finalized and should be signed soon, allowing renovations to get underway. The plan is to complete the storage shed work this summer (so it doesn’t interfere with events) and then start renovations on the Hall in September, aiming to finish by the end of 2026.
A motion to approve the budget of $222,348 for the repair/renovations was passed unanimously by the members.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help with in-kind labour and materials, and are especially hoping to find a plumber to assist with planning the renovations. If you can help, please contact members@halfmoon-bay.ca.
