HBCA Donations

Community Initiatives Program (CIP)

The Community Initiatives Program (CIP) is dedicated to providing support to those that need it most.  Funds will be donated to worthy causes in, or directly benefiting, the community of Halfmoon Bay.  Fundraising events will be held that target specific recipients.  However, regardless of whether there is a particular event taking place, donations directly to the CIP fund are always welcome.  From your heart to your hands (e-transfer to info@halfmoon-bay.ca, mail a cheque, online payment)… these are the many ways you can support those in need in your community.

With the proceeds from the Nov/Dec 2021 Help for Families and the March 2022 Auction at the Bay, the following donations have been made:

  • $10K to the Halfmoon Bay Community School  (food program, holiday hampers, special equipment, etc.)
  • $12K to the Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (Building Together project; programs for clients, and affordable housing for vulnerable women and children )
  • $3K to the Vancouver Coast Health Compassionate Fund  (meeting the immediate needs of clients living in Halfmoon Bay)
  • $3.2K to the One Straw Society’s subsidized Food Box program (we need YOU to spread the word)
  • $600 to the Halfmoon Bay Child Care Center Learning Garden (volunteers, including Justine from The O Farm and Fawn’s Road Stand, are helping bring that together)

If you know of a worthy cause that could benefit from financial support, please let us know!
